Question about transmission

Would the U140f transmission fit on a 1mz camry. Since the U140F is used in the 2001-03 Highlander with the 1MZ what would be involved in switching the A541e with the U140f

A140E is weaker (and dirtier) than A541E. why would you want to swap them?

I think camry V6 (1mz-fe) works better with more reliable A541E, that's how they come from factory.

Is the U140F of the 01-03 4wd highlander the same as the A140E? I was just asking if since the highlander has the same motor(1mz) but it has a dif transmission could that be mated to the 1mz of a gen3 or gen4. Of course a driveshaft and rear parts would be different.

oh, my bad, misread your post.

U140F is a different series - even worse than A series in terms of reliability as I read on Internet.
I think all U-series run on expensive Toyota Type-IV fluid unlike the A-series (Dexron-III fluid or better)

I'd rather recommend sticking with old good A541E, best automatic you can get for 1mz-fe in my personal opinion.

Yeah those have a bad reputation. The real thing is I wanted to know what 4x4 transmission could mate to the 1mz but I won't be swapping out the A541 since it is very reliable.

Why not use a transmission from a Highlander ? They have 1mzfe with transfer case

2001-2003 Toyota Highlander AWD.

Read previous posts The U140F is the trans of the highlander. Would it fit directly in a gen3.
Also would the All-trac from a camry wagon 4wd fit in the new 1mz

Alltrac gen 3. The conceptual stuff has all been researched by a few people on here. It CAN be done. The parts ARE obtainable. We all just need someone to throw the money down.
