3rd Generation Help! Noticed a issue (maybe)

So I was on the highway doing about 60/65 n let off the gas to exit n my RPMs went down like normal but then they started jumping in-between 1&2000 it was kinda like I was tapping the gas lightly (which I wasn't)
Any thoughts as to way this is and if it's a potential problem?
Thanks- Slaz

When was the last time you checked the transmission fluid level? I'm assuming it's an automatic.

I just had this problem on my XLE. It ended up being the alternator belt wasnt tight causing the battery to loose voltage and it messed with the Tach signal in the distributor. It also mis-fired when throttle was applied.

The tach signal is sent from the distributor, so maybe you just had a little glitch or something. If its running fine I wouldn't worry too much.

I believe I'm experiencing this problem also. Would these symptoms exist when the transmission is over filled or under filled?

edit:
Abnormal Power Loss

Here is my thread w/ video describing my problem. Sorry if I am thread jacking.

The transmission speed is controlled by a Sensor that has a gear shaft that is spun by the differential. The only electrical part on the entire speed section is the Pickup on the top of the sensor that detects how fast the gear is spinning (Speed).

The RPM is controlled electronically inside of the distributor (Tach Signal)

Transmission fluid level would not affect the RPM (Tach)

One thing you could try is to make sure the ignitor plug is tight. Try removing it and putting a dab of dielectric grease on the pins. Also do this on the ECU. Pull the connections apart, apply a dab of the grease on the plug and re-install.
