Factory ride height specs?

95 Camry, 5sfe, 240k

Does anyone know where I can find ride height specs? I checked my vehicle's manual as well as Haynes and no luck. I'm trying to measure how much my coil springs have sagged over the years, but obviously can't do that if I don't know the original specs! Thanks in advance.

I really have no idea. lol

I will be removing my shocks / springs once I get my lowering springs, I can measure them for you if you'de like. Its stock height.

Has 160,000 miles on it so it may be sagged a little but it should give you a good indication of what the height should be

EDIT:

I could just measure between the tire and fender well. BRB lol

Front:

7 1/2" From fender well lip to top of Rim (not tire)

Rear:

7 3/8" From Fender well lip to top of Rim

My wagon's highest fender point is 29 inches off the ground. I do have wheels/tires that are about 2.5% taller than the oem....

If you read through this...

INFO: 1996 Toyota Camry Specifications

you'll find the ground clearance should be 5.7" or about 14.5cm. Measuring any other way, or any other place other than flat level pavement would be irrelevant, as different rim/tire combinations, and uneven pavement would give different measurements.

On the topic of ride height.. 5.7" is stock height from ground to the lowest part of chassis.. for us gen 3 guys, which part of the chassis is it?

what do you guys think is the least amount of clearance needed to not have problems with speed bumps?

if you just measure like I have in my picture, it will be accurate too and you wont need a lift or a creeper to slide under the car. Your measuring from the fender lip to the top of the rim. The rim is exactly center on the Hub assembly.

^That would only give you the distance of the fender lip to the top of the rim. Consider different rim diameters(14", 15", 16", 17", 18",...etc), and tire sizes. Those factors will change the "fender lip to top of rim" measurement, and still not give you the actual ride height or ground clearance of the car, which is what the OP is trying to find out. Now, fender lip to the ground would give very accurate measurements.

HE wanted the factory specs, so that's what I gave him. no sense in debating where to measure from. I gave him the info right from the FSM including where to measure from.

lol I wasnt trying to argue with anyone I was simply saying that measure from the fender to the rim was easier because you just open your tape and line it up without even bending over.

Even if you went all the way to the center of the hub. Your still measuring how much spring you have. I was giving him a reference to compare his springs to. If the distance between his fender and the top of the rim (Assuming he has stock rims for his car) is less than my distance, he will know how much they are sagging simply by subtracting a fraction I got by his fraction.
