Well, depending on where you are in the world, the driver side is whatever side the steering wheel is on. Since you're in the U.S., the steering wheel is on the left. So, the answer to your question is yes.

+1. The reference position is always from inside the vehicle facing forward.

Cars built for the U.S.A. are LH drive vehicles. Other Parts of the world, they can be RH drive. The reason why most Parts people, me being one of them, always uses Drivers side or Passenger side, is to eliminate confusion. If I ask that simple question(in reference to me being in the U.S.) I don't have to worry about whether my customer is looking at the car from the front, the rear, inside, or out. So based on that question, their response will tell me right or left without much of a long debate about how to look at the car.

You'd be surprised at how many people will answer right hand side when referring to the drivers side. So you can imagine how this can lead to wrong parts if we didn't simplifiy it.

Here's another puzzler. Bank 2 on a front wheel drive Toyota V6 is a LH bank, or a RH bank?
Bank 1 on every Toyota motor is always next to what?

My guess is that it's the left side based on if you're standing in front of the engine. On a FWD camry, that would make bank 1 the one closer to the firewall, I'm 90% sure.

Bank 1 (B1) refers to the bank that includes cylinder No. 1.
Bank 2 (B2) refers to the bank opposite bank 1.
Sensor 1 (S1) refers to the sensor that is located before the catalytic converters.
Sensor 2 (S2) refers to the sensor that is located after the catalytic converters.

Bingo!
B2 is always radiator side on a FWD V6 Toy. (LH)
EZ remembrance
Some of our motors have B1 and B2 cats on a 4 cyl. Not meaning downstream cats, either.

Good. I was thinking you had lost your mind. Csaxon's post is correct, of course.
