lateral link replacement help

i am replacing the rear lateral links on my 1993 4cl XLE i was able to get the far rear links off, but i am not able to slide the long bolts out to get the other two none adjustables off, they hit the fuel tank. do i have to lower the sub frame or the gas tank to do this.

I dropped the subframe on mine too. One bit of advice, when loosening the small nuts that hold the subframe on it is a good idea to apply heat to these rusty nuts to prevent breaking off the studs that the nuts thread on to. I learned this one the hard way.

If all goes well and I get a large enough lathe - titanium lateral links and other rear suspension members will be an option for those interested! Need to practice with threadmaking and tapering first, I want these to be direct replacements with no adaptations needed on the end-user's side...

Plus, since my overhead will basically be electricity and raw materials, these won't be too much more expensive than OEM parts - food for thought...
