3rd Generation 1993 Camry LE 4cyl GAS SMELL

People have been complaining my camry smells like gas when the A/C is on.

Is this common for 200K+ mile vehicles? Also it seems my MPG dropped to only 15MPG

Those are signs of a GASOLINE LEAK which can happen on higher milage cars. Don't drive it until you find out where it's leaking from. I wonder if a UV dye in the gasoline would be a good idea... Wait for someone else to chime in.

I would first check your filler kneck for any wet spots as these are the most common points where gas leaks...I have seen plenty of rust Camry filler knecks in my day....

does sound like there is a fuel leak somewhere. like jtex said about the filler neck, but another common place is the fuel line running from the tank to the filter.

The fuel pump fits in the gas tank from the top, and if you have any fat butt friends that sit in the back seat, that might be where the leak is coming from.

Take out the back seat and see if the smell get more intense where the access cover. Might just need to tighten the nuts, or maybe replace the gasket.
