Check Engine Light Briefly on at Startup?

Having a brain fart at the moment and can't remember if the check engine light is supposed to come on briefly after starting your engine and then go off.

My airbag, oil, battery, brake light come on and off, but not the check engine one. Can't remember if it ever did or not, and if it is, wondering if the check engine bulb is out.

Help please? Thanks!

Still driving the car in my sig.

It's supposed to come on as you crank the engine and then go off shortly after the engine starts.

As soon as the engine starts, the CEL goes out. If not, then an OBD fault has occurred.

yes, CEL (as well as ALL other warning lights) is supposed to come on briefly when you turn IGN key to ON.

probably a bad bulb, you can get them from dealer, costs like $2 or so.
