3rd Generation Is this normal on 1993 camry

The problem is everytime I start driving my gas meter goes down. However once stopped it goes back up. It also changes when I'm going above 45mph or below 20mph. What's up with this?

Does it measure out how much fuel you have left if you keep driving this fast?

The resistive element must be getting bad, its probably time for a new sending unit.
As the gas sloshes around the level changes and would move the float up or down. A bad sending unit may have good contact areas and bad ones, sometimes it hits an area that works and that is what the gauge reads either high or low.

Thanks, as of now it isn't that bad. I might change it in the future. It's only a annoying when driving it drops a few making me think I burn fuel so fast.
