Can I Roll the car with no axles or front brakes?

1993 se v6 5 speed manual

I am piling the motor and was just curious if I can put the wheels back on the wheel studs with
no brakes or axle bolted to them? Just on the hubs I guess. Just want to make sure I am not
Hurting anything.

The valve cover gasket is leaking real bad and I think the
Pressure plate was not pushing the slave rod back far enough.

Yes it will roll. However, from a safety stance it isn't a good idea unless you have a known good way to stop it once it's moving.

Yes you can. You can still use the parking/e brae. Though do NOT step on the brake pedal...if you do, you'll have some troubles....

I've rolled my camry without brakes before and it's not terribly unsafe. As long as you're not rolling downhill, you're fine. But I would just take the extra five minutes to bolt the 2 brake bolts back on and have brakes...The brakes didn't need to come off for the engine to come out, just the lower control arm needed to be undone. So theoretically you can re-attach the brakes and leave them on.

Kinda what I meant....make sure the e brake works first. I was rolling a Nissan with no brakes/drivetrain downhill. I was fine because I checked the e brake first.

in order to take the axles out, you removed the lower control arm and end links...you see where I'm going with this?

^ ???

to physically remove the axle, all he has to do is remove the two bolts holding the struts to the hub, bang the axle out, and then reattach the two bolts to the hub

he's fine to roll the chassis without the motor and axles in

Mine was rolled onto a flat bad with no brakes. Wheels mounted to the hubs. Just BE CAREFUL.

You can use a large bolt and washers to keep the hub bearings in place when you move it.
