3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
9.0:1,
A litttle bit more power while still staying in a safe compression range for boosting.
I'm running 9,0:1 and 18 psi on 93 octane. No problem. Awsome pull.
Really depends on how much boost you will be using - but I agree with MR2Jedi - 9:1 is a pretty good ratio. If you were really ambitious and wanted something a little more aggressive you could get 10.5:1 or even 11:1 and run low <8PSI or so, but water/meth injection is almost required with this plus proper safe tuning, however if you were to suddenly lose power to the fuel pump or water/meth injectors...well, time to start over!
Subscribed ...would like to take some ideas from people using FI for my N/A build, and will be posting my *SLOW* progess as time goes on!

Anything above 9.0:1 is risky. And like stated above, you will have to keep the boost low and take extra steps for charge cooling.
With my set up at 9.0:1, I would not go more than 19psi, And thats if I could find 95 octane. The highest I've found locally is 93, so I keep it at 18psi.
Available fuel in your area should also play in your decision.

thanx for the input guys. im only planning for 10psi for now and then going 15psi when i do a 3sgte head swap in the future.
Ah, 5sfte stroker! That can be a beast.!
With a FMIC, you'll be good at 10psi.
I would recommend the ATS Racing 170 degree thermostat. A cheap mod to help keep temps down- especially since the 5s head doesn't have coolant jackets.
Possibly. I would suggest he does some reading on the build in the MR2 section or at MR2.OC
^ This.
