i can go ice fishing in my trunk, oh wait...

i dont think this is a good thing. i was checking the pressure in my spare and noticed this off to the side.

being the antenna drain line is in good shape and running as it should, i think this is where the water is coming in from.

looks like i have to do some patching. damn you people who dont live in the rust belt and have these issues. damn you.

well, look at the upside...now you can store your "cold" grocery items in the trunk without having to rush home to get them in the fridge.....

I live in the rust belt.. let me check

Why's the water not draining though? With rust I would assume there'd be a hole larger than the original drain hole which would allow the water to leave..

Wet trunk

That rust hole does not look good. I just encountered a similar problem on my daughter's
Civic. With the help of a rubber sheet and some silicone I was able to separate the outside from the inside. After last nights downpour I can see that it works.
On my Camry, I had lots of water in the trunk fender wells. One of the culprits was the vent in the lower rear driver side quarter panel. The seal was no longer doing its job and it let lots of water inside. I resealed it with Dum Dum. On the right side I discovered a crack in a body
joint behind the bumper. A little silicone and the problem is fixed.
After checking this morning, I can see the trunk is completely dry. I have been wrestling
this leak problem for a year. I started with a new rubber trunk seal and I also glued a rubber
strip around the edge of the trunk lid to keep water from migrating over the top of the factory seal. One problem solved, now I have to do something about the leaky oil pan gasket.

Ben ouai, you are right there.
Love those 65 Impalas. That is when GM made decent cars. I have a 94 Corvette convertible for the summer.
Too many things are there to go wrong. Would like to pick up a 55 Chev Nomad.
