Does anyone have one laying around that they could take a picture of?
I need to compare the mounting locations of a Gen 4 oil strainer to a 3SGTE one.
They're supposed to be the same (maybe for MR2's) but my 3SGTE one definitely doesn't fit my '98 5SGTE block. I do know the Toyota part numbers are different. I don't want to go to the junkyard an hour from here to pull the pan to only find out they're somehow the same!
PLEASE help lol

i dont know if this will help as this is a photo of a 96 5sfe oil pickup, but i believe the 96 and 97 pickups would be the same as they have basically the same block.

That strainer is definitely different from mine but it mounts in a similar way. Dammit >: (

I think I just figured it out. The strainer's mounting point falls over the mounting point for that balancer. It looks like all I have to do is get the correct sized bolt and bolt the strainer down. I just had to slightly adjust it as it actually had fit off-center before.
