At 235K should I replace the mains and rods "just because"?

I've got the transmission out to replace the friction in the drums, should I go ahead and replace teh crank bearings just because... say just because I'm removing the balance shaft assy? I have no noise in the bottom end and no reason to suspect journal egging, I was thinking a standard set might slip in just right.... What do you guys think? Plastigage?

you'd be so surprised on Toyota engines how little they wear if proper maint was done.
If that's the case, I'd leave it alone.

Plastigage the main bearings and see how much space is between them. Contact a machine shop and ask what bearings will work best for how much gap you have

Mileage alone is no reason. But like looking at the water pump when you got to the timing belt, and if you don't mind the additional work at least plastigage it to see what the existing clearances are.

I'd put back select-fix bearings from an online dealer. Maybe Gary the Toyota parts man here. If you go standard fit then go with Mahle's Clevite tri-metal bearings. About $40 a set online. You still need to plastigage afterwards. Bearing clearances always need to be in spec, preferably closer to the low end.
