As long as the wire is protected and properly fused

And he's worried about whether 20" wheels will fit. With this and the other probs he has the car just may turn into a fire ball.

The best thing to do is find out why it is there, and fix the problem instead of just rigging it to work. If you need a wiring schematic or the trouble shooting for the fuel pump I'm sure some one on here has them for a Gen3, they could "loan" you. I would but only have a Gen4 FSM.

True true. I figure the relay must be bad and is probally pretty cheap to replace. so i guess I'll unhook the wire and put a new relay in it and see what happens.

I would have never hot wired it to begin with! I bealive if your gonna do something do it the right way!
