ETC and O/D off causes stalling

Hey guys,

So i have a '92 toyota camry le 5s-fe engine and whenever the etc is on or the overdrive is off the car will stall at a red light if its been warmed up (15-20 min) if the o/d is on and etc is off it will not stall at all. how can i fix this problem?

Hi.

Have you checked your TCC (Torque Convertor clutch) It's a solenoid type device that sometimes will fail. When it does, it does not unlock the Torque Convertor when coming to a stop (Gives the sensation of driving a manual tranny and not letting out clutch). It happens when the tranny and engine are warm.

Disconnect, spray some solvent and connect back, main electric connector (plug) on A/T (if there are two plugs, move both). It's somewhere down under cruise control unit and battery.
I had the same problem, and it was just bad connection...
