Can't stop smelling oil

1994 v6 224k. I have been using seafoam per my mechanic to try to soften the seals for the past 2 months. This thing smells like oil really bad when I start it in the morning. Am I better off just pulling it out and getting it rebuilt? How much will that cost me? Estimates of course. Thanks.

All machine shops charge different rates depending on where you live.

Sounds to me like your valve seals are dried and cracked. To get this machined, your going to need to get the head cleaned, and re-surfaced. Might as well get the entire head re-done. Typical head jobs run $150-$250.00 for parts and labor and depending on location.
