(optional) Electronic Control Transmission (ECT) ??

Just picked up my 98 2.2L LE and it doesn't look to have the ECT button I liked on my old Tacoma, and Land Cruiser. Would it be possible to add it? I know some options are just missing the button and are already wired. I live in a very hilly area and like the higher shifting points.

I don't think it was even an option on the 97-01 models. It was just standard on automatic 92-96 camrys ONLY.

Well it looks to be the same tranny from 1983-2001 Camry. So I'm going to keep researching. Maybe it can be added.

You're right. It is the same tranny. Never thought about before. The ECT button just tells the computer to up shift faster and at higher RPMS. Hmmm... maybe the computers can be swapped. Now i'm interested!
