problems w/Weathertech mat fit?

I would like to get Weathertech rubber floor mats for the front of my 1997 Camry but read on Amazon that the fit is generic and may not take into account the gascap release lever and area for the foot rest. Has anyone found this so?

The goodyear mats I purchased at Advanced Auto are universal fit, and they fit around my gas cap release. There should be one front mat that has an indentation on the bottom left corner. It should fit right around the gas release

I went to my Camry to see how the hand-me-down Weathertech mat, that I have been using from my husbands Dodge truck, fit on the Camry floor. It fits perfectly well under the gascap and trunk levers and actually pretty much covers the footrest. I have been using it for over two years and never noticed any inconveniences. So I am probably being too particular.
