02 sensor replacement help

Hey guys. IM not knowledgeable when it comes to cars. And i need some help.

I have a 2001 toyota solara v6. apparently it has 3 o2 sensors and I need to replace bank 2 sensor 1.

Now i have located all 3 sensors. One when i open my hood that is staring right in front of me

ONe that looks like it is connected to some muffler pipe after the Catalalyic converter. And another one that is located underneath the front of the car.

Which one is the one I need to replace?

Thank you for your help.

Bank 2 Sensor 1 is the easiest one. it's right in front of engine after opening the hood and looking down.
ECU trouble code (DTC) associated with this sensor errors are:
P1150 A/F Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Malfunction (Bank2 Sensor 1)
P1153 A/F Sensor Circuit Response Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P1155 A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

other codes for opposite (by firewall) bank 1 sensor 1 are (analogically):
P1130
P1133
P1135

if you have any other codes than post them all here. there are some codes that may need to be checked/fixed before troubleshooting any further.

For replacement look for original Denso 234-9021 (which is OEM for this model) sensor on ebay, shouldn't be more than $110 nowadays (around $330 MSRP at most local dealers over the Parts counter).

All Solaras are made to comply with California emission specs so they use more precise wideband Air Fuel Ratio upstream sensors instead of thimble type upstream oxygen sensors (like on federal emission spec Camry).

Did you get any codes? that usually can tell which one it may be.

As fenixus stated, bank 2 sensor one is right in front. Bank 1 sensor 1 is near the firewall and bank 1 sensor 1 is after the CAT.

If you get a code, you can PM me or email me and I can send you some information or the members here can also let you know which one it is.

I have never seen a federal emission specced solara yet. maybe they are out there somewhere, but I always was thinking about solaras as 50 state cars (always california specs).
