3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Ok, so I have gone to a few places for my check engine light. Nobody has the right guage because it is older than a 95. So what do I do? I really don't want to spend 65 bucks just to have some shop hook up the tool. Any thoughts?
jumper terminals Tc and E1 with a paper clip in your Diagnostic connector (round one under dash I assume for your car), turn key to IGN ON and counts how the CEL blinks (1st series of blinks is 1st digit of code, 2nd series of blinks is 2nd digit).
Pre-1996 4cyl... jump the pins.
Pre-1994 V6... jump the pins.

It's OBDII then. The port is behind the coin drawer to the left of the steering wheel. Open it, squeeze the tabs on both side, and it comes right out.

Common problem; OBD II was required in '96, so an awful lot of techs and counter-people at auto parts stores just assume nothing before '96 has it. They don't bother to look because they "know" it doesn't. I've even had to argue with a few of them about it.

You should pull a fast one on them...just tell them you had a shop put in the ODBII connector. Show them where it is and have them hook up their scanner.
I'm sure they will be laughing all the way until it reads the system.

check the part number in Denso Aftermarket catalog (oxygen sensors) and then look for that on ebay (make sure it's Denso and not some other bull shit).
NGK/NTK makes good sensors too, but they are pricey, sometimes their aftermarket parts are as expensive as OEM at MSRP prices at dealer.

YES. its the FRONT (2 req.) in their catalog. they should be same for front bank and rear bank (do not confuse with REAR sensor which is post-cat), at least on 1mz-fe engine.
but specifically, your code says Bank 1 / RH one, on a V6 engine.
Denso 234-4622 seems OK, try this even better at $65 free shipping ... from Amazon
