Solara mouse access

Hi: My wife has a 2000 Solara and from time to time, if she left bird seed in the car, we found a mouse has gotten in for a snack. One day I found a bunch of shells in the back of the glove compartment. I've caught a couple of these in the garage and my shop and transported them over to a stream near our house. Since finding them she always has the windows closed when parked in the garage. A couple of days ago I used her car to buy some bags of sunflower seeds and the next morning found a bunch of shells in the trunk by the bags. The doors were closed, as were the windows and the trunk lid. I know it's not living in the car. How did it get in and out?

Most likely your body grommets are missing. These are the ones commonly found in the glove box still in their wrappers. They're oval shaped.
They go in the underside behind the front wheels and in front of the rear wheels. This is the tie down area when transported.
Mice go in there, channel up the frame rail, then out the seat channels under each seat.
If yours aren't still in the glove box, then cover the holes with gorilla tape. Be sure to clean the area first for a good stick.
For some reason, they love the area of the cabin air filter, which I know you don't have, but they love chewing in that general area.
Mice will seek out any source of food. No matter where it is.

I never knew what those were for, do you mind telling me where they need to be installed for a 99 Avalon?

Much thanks - never would have thunk it! How the hell did he get in the glove compartment; although my wife thinks there's a space behind the compartment when you close it...Since it's winter up here in Maine and a messy one at that, I probably won't get to it soon. How large are the holes? Do you know if the grommets are still available? Probably easier to stick them in then getting under the fender at my age.

Same for all Solara, Camry, Avalon, Sienna chassis vehicles. The directions are on the wrapper.
The holes are about twice the size of a mouse and they're oval.
One woman came swearing she saw one running across her rear shelf, WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING!!.
I took care of it like I said, and haven't heard from her since.
If I had a nickle for everytime I pulled a cabin filter and found a nest built, I'd be getting rich by now.
Several times the baby mice were still in there. Cover up them holes, ppl! They like Toyota's!

I looked in the wheel wells, front and back, and I couldn't find any holes. Where is the cabin filter?

My Dad's Avalon also has them in the glove box. I'll look around when I'm changing the oil in the 07. The bad thing is there is mouse in our garage right now.
