Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Does any 4th gen Camry trim level have illuminated entry lights? You know the lights at the bottom of the interior door panel front and rear to light the street where you are steping on to at night?

Not 100% sure but I don't think they do. Those are called courtesy lights, maybe someone else can chime in. The gen 4's I've been in were not the nicest ones and they didn't have it.
92-94 Camry only. Gen 3.5+ got cheaped out on and lost them.

You'd need to tap into the grounding wire for the dome light. The postive source can come from any fused 12 volt constant.

LynchburgCSI thanks for the info. That is too bad ALL EX trim level Honda Accords I have had them. They are really nice during the winter here to make sure your girl is not steping into a slush puddle with her brand new heels etc. Guess I will have to look for a oldy to get them in a Camry.

Hmm. Must be 92-94 XLE models. I know the LE coupes (94-96) also had them.

What do you tap into if you want to put LEDs in the footwells or as you say, 'courtesy lighting'? Sounds like an interesting mod.
I know you, Iovaykind, have lights in your footwells...but is that because yours is one of those 92-94 gen 3s or you did it yourself?

I want to do the same thing and asked Iovaykind how to go about this and what this is what he said,

The negative door trigger wire is IIRC Red with white stripes. It will be grounded whenever the door is open. Have a hot positive connect to all the positives of your lights, then the negative to the door trigger wire. If you want to include a manual switch, find a ground and connect it so that the switch opens the circuit to ground whenever it is turned on, hopefully that helps
I haven't done it yet cuz I haven't had the time also I want to know i where to access the wires needed? Are they the ons that i would access along the door on the drivers side? and Ken do you any more info that could make things a bit clearer? Hope this some what helps everyone

I have gen 3.5 aka no entry lights. Had to fabricate my own.. used to have it under the car, for when I hit the unlock button it would light up the ground. After last winter, they got ruined and I haven't replace it.
BoyBlue... I was suggesting the exact same thing that Iova was. He just went into more detail. The wire's location I don't know off the top of my head. Check the12volt.com.
