93 Toyota 2.2L LE Camry with/auto-trans Dash Light Dimmer Switch must have shorted, the dash lights do not come on and when I took off the dash panel, the plastic case with the dimmer switch has black burned marks on the plastic where it shorted and burned the plastic. Ebay has some, some with/without pictures showing the front/back connector etc. The prices seem a bit crazy, especially when it's a gamble on a used switch whether or not it is is good condition.
I would repair it is I had a schematic, but the parts might not be matchable if say they are special numbered parts for toyota, and also if anything went wrong I might end up blowing the wiring, not worth trying ot save a few bucks..
Anyone know where I can get a new/used one?
Thanx..
I would take a picture of the dash dimmer switch, but I had to put it back in the car so my daughter could go to work..
thanx..

I have one sitting in the console of my Ford. The back plastic is missing though.

I found a used on on eBay for $20.00... plastic cheap pos,, only worth $2.00. In fact they should have been sued for putting a fire hazard out in cars knowing it was made poorly and prone to catch fire.. shame on Toyota for putting crap parts in cars..

I could sell you one for less than $20.00... Im sure Lynch and Chris could too . lol
Thats insane.
So the dimmer shorts out and catches fire?? That reminds me of the old ford light harnesses. They used to have a major problem with those catching fire. Something do do with the dimmer also if I do remember correctly
