93 camry V6 front rotor opinions

Hello, anybody had good or bad experience with a particular parts store's rotors?

NAPA, Advance auto, Autozone?

Just want something that will stay true and not develop a pulsation after 1 year! Thank you

you can buy excellent Brembo rotors (blank, not slotted, not drilled) at like $40 each from tirerack.com

I have never bought yet rotors personally (just resurfaced OEM I have), but if I needed a pair I would go with Brembo.

Napa GOLD rotors, had them on 2001 camry for aprx.40K, before trade in I transfered them to 2000 Camry, another 15K or so miles, still looks like new.
my recomendations: add Wagner Thermoquiet brake pads (O'Really auto parts) and you will not have any issues for long time.

Autozone Duralast rotors went bad in one winter on my friends altima.
and duralast belt cracked in 2 month on my old car and in 3 days on my coworker's mustang.

+1.

If Brembos are available, get them. Use Akebono ProAct or Street Performance ceramic pads.

If you want cheaper rotors, maybe try the Centric C-Tek or the Premium with the painted hubs. And use Akebono pads with these too. Check rockauto for prices.

I have had nothing but problems with any moving part ive bought from autozone. several years ago when i was new to car mechanics i bought rotors from autozone. i think i exchanged them 4 times. their lifetime warranty exists for a reason. you will use it!

I also watched my dad, over the course of a year, put 3 alternators, 3 starters and two sets of belts from autozone on his van. On his car, he is on the 6th autozone starter. they told him this would be his last one. funny thing is, he doesnt drive the car that much!

So, avoid them. The only things i buy from them would be fluids.

yes, most mechanical aftermarket parts from parts stores is junk out of the box or theygo bad in no time heehee (I know my Bosch water pump did).
I would never take aftermarket starter or alternator from them (their belts are good only if Good Year or Dayco), it's better to invest more and get new OEM from online dealer at 30% off MSRP and do it once and right.

I have an original set of rotors (290K), and OEM replacement pads at 50K currently. They still seem pretty solid in daily enthusiast driving unless... Maybe you are breaking from 80mph or greater, or you are breaking downhill on a 15% grade from 60mph, you have a trunkload of... But really, the brembos sound good, maybe with OEM pads?

Toyota's brake systems are ok for daily commute, but not for performance driving. For the daily grind the Akebono ceramics work very well.

If the OEM pads you are getting are made by Akebono then they're fine (markings "AK xxx-xxx FF"). If they're made by NBK then IMO they're junk. See who's the lowest bidder for the batch at the dealer. Ask to see the pads first or just get Akebono ProAct ceramics.

If you want supposedly stronger braking get Akebono's Street Performance. But personally I can't say paying 40-50% more for those pads are worth it at all.
