Plx m300 wideband install into 93 Camry SE 5sp

Well I decided to install my extra Wideband I picked up for $80. Score. Just about any Wideband should be the same installation. Placement of the sensor should be closer to the header or turbo if possible or depending on which brand you use. Plx like the sensor close and aem like it a little further away.

I fabbed up a cat delete pipe and welded a o2 bung towards the front and placed it out the passenger side. I DID NOT USE THOSE GASKETS. I used 2 new Toyota crush factory gaskets.

Then I drilled a hole on the passenger side and used a rubber grommet and black silicone to seal it up.

Here is a pic of the test pipe from down under.

Gotta eat post results soon.

Timing is set at 12-14 deg
Cog turned 4-5 clicks. Will have to look again.

Idle 15.4
Crusing 14.5
Accelerating 14.5-14.8
Wot goes from 11.2 and goes quickly to 9.0
It leans out high when letting off accelerator quickly

never been big on self tuning or the 3vz factory(ish) numbers. But looks like your off to a good start. ya may even, down the road, want to invest in EGT sensors for each bank if your boost goals are over 8 psi.

The unit is a plx m300. I always use a Wideband for ANY forced induction tuning. This is the 2nd m300 I have used. My first one has been in 5 different vehicles and still works great. It is currently in my Conquest now. It reads out the word "lean" or "rich" if it goes to far either way.

Here it is just for testing now gotta hide it a lil better. Factory 5sp goodness.

I will be putting the display in the factory clock location. Plx units are a rectangle box with the guts placed inside. The unit can be taken apart and the display unsoldered then a length of wires soldered in between the unit and the display. This allows a remote mounting of the display into a smaller area wher the box would not fit. So I have to pull the plastic surround to see if behind the factory clock will fit with or without the display intact.

Here is a pic of the remote mounted display in my conquest. I reused the display of the plx instead of the clock display. The plx m300 box with the guts is hidden behind the glovebox. Evo 9 gauges

Here is the factory clock spot I will be mounting the display.
Check out the cut out spider conquest hood in background.

They have a 2 wire hookup for power. Switched ignition power and ground-earth. There are couple other wires for factory o2 output.

i noticed you installed the sensor pointing down... usually its best to install it with about 10* angle upward so potential water and crud doesnt accumulate in the sensor...

other than that nice install !

The sensor comes in strait like a 90deg angle. I see what your saying about it accumulating water. You mean in the sensor itself? Right? The space in that area would not allow for a more vertical sensor placement or I would have just for that and it's hotter on the top. With the plx I would prefer it closer to the manifold but this is after the "Y" so that's good enough for NA

Just retimed to 17-18deg
Moved cog 5 notches clockwise from stock

I gotta write down the results of the Wideband and keep track.
Power seems smoother and throttle response is better for sure

It seems like when the acis valve opens at 4000 it does not have as much pull. Not sure if it just smoothed out or not.
