4th Generation do I need to change the dogbone?

when stopping at a red light, I can feel a little bit vibration coming from the cushion and steering wheel.

I am attaching the two pictures of dogbone. You can see there is
a small crack in the dogbone. but do I need to change the dogbone now?
or can I wait till the summer?

thank you.

I dont know about Gen 4s, but Gen 3s will have that vibration despite having good motor mounts. Your dogbone looks like its deteriorating some, but I would leave it for now. Chances are if your dogbone needs replacing, your other motor mounts need replacing.

If anything, you can fill the mount up with some fillable rubber (3m makes good epoxy). This will strengthen it a little and help it last a bit longer.

It looks ok to me.
How many miles on your car?
Could be other mounts.

If the dogbone is getting worn, that's usually a sign that the other motor mounts are getting worn too. That one looks decently worn, but I wouldn't say that it needed to be replaced. How many miles are on the car?

That thing needs to be changed yesterday it's shot. They are not expensive, and I've even seen good ones at the salvage yards.

You're probably fine. Don't worry about it for now. Check back if it gets worse.

How's the jolt of shifting from N into D or R?

I'd replace the mount. It's about $30 online. You may be able to get an OEM one from one of the sponsors here at a similar price. And you can do it yourself. But the thing would be to check the main engine mounts. You also should make sure the engine is well tuned.

^ Trashed. Time for a change if it's in the budget. Also check your other engine mounts. One failed = possible excessive wear on others.

Ditto for mine ('98 LE 2.2L 4-auto). But regarding the other mounts.....I can easily see the one in the lower front. Where are the others??

And if all those are worn, then why not:

Trans mounts
Rear control arms
Trailing arms
Sways
Links
Tie rod ends
axles
etc.
etc.

Basically....everything that's rubber needs to go!

So about after you either spend $1 to $2K in parts & $1k of your labor (or your death if it drives you insane enough)......or $5K at a shop to have all that done........you might as well go buy a new car, eh??

I need most of those replaced, axles, you can get the boot kits from Toyota. IIRC Trailing arms need to be purchased from Toyota also or Energy Suspension sells a kit which I think includes the bushings for the arm.
