3rd Generation Cf Trunk help/questions. Looking for Rich!

So i bought a CF trunk finally from Quan (4 months ago) and just got it back from getting fixed and re cleared (long time i know, long story) I know that you have to kinda toy with them to get them to sit right and ive been doing that but ive been wondering how some of the other guys with CF trunks did theirs so i can get more ideas? cause i have mine sitting pretty fair but it needs more work. the trunk latch lock doesnt work correctly ATM and idk why about that. but also how do you get the key hole lock out of the stock trunks and transfer them? ive been playin with it for a little and no luck. Ill try and post up pics soon but since its been raining alot latly and my yard is in dirt so the car is fairly dirty :/. But this thread is to anyone that can help give me more ideas to have the trunk sit better and more flush. i have takin out my weather stripping and added pieces as need be as well as added a washer to each bolt. also took out the trunk supports as they were WAY to powerful for CF so im thinking of attaching a solid bar in between both arms to kinda make things more solid. ideas?

Chris

p.s. yet again sorry for the long stories i post like always but i try to get my point across instead of being short sweet and to the point. lmao.

im asking for Rich mainly because he owned the trunk before Quan and made it fit perfectly from what Quan told me.

dont remember how to transfer the key hole, although i think it was pretty straight forward.

i did add an o-ring around the keyhole when i put it in to keep moister out

I have to mess around with my CF trunk too to get it to look properly aligned with the rest of the car. I will look at it tomorrow and see if i can't figure it out.

How does the CF trunk look after getting fixed and clear coated? Does it look like new again or look like it's been repaired? I have to get mine fixed and clear coated because it's badly worn.

ill take a pic before i go to work and upload it when i get home it looks 10 times better then when i got it but there is only so much work he could do. he stripped it down to almost the bare carbon to get some of he haze and scratches out. but it looks better for the most part now and just needs a damn good polish. Altho i do think its cool that i can shine a flashlight through my trunk and see it through the top hahaha

Chris,
when I transferred the parts over to the CF trunk EVERYTHING fit fine, it was just a real pain it the ass to get everything right. I think I did have an issue with the lock cylinder (it fit fine) being mounted the wrong way somehow, but I never did try to figure it out. There was an etched out part on the trunk itself so I just popped in the lock cylinder, turned it, and tightened everything down. I took the tension off the trunk to stop it from flying up. I also went as far as adjusting the lock hinge and adding spacers on the supports to get it to fit flush. I wouldn't say it was perfect, but it was close. I also took off the OEM weatherstripping and went with some Home Depot ones. Yup, it took quite a bit of work.
