I've had a lot of people tell me there not worth the money. I just got the Philips 9003 X-treme Power. Installed them last week and they seem nice. I don't see any yellow. And The low beam seems to be a lot better.

Ordered them here.

If you do go with Sylvania SilverStar Ultra get them at Advance Auto Parts online (if there in your area) and use this coupon. And chose pick up in store.

I use these on my cars and trucks and I like them a lot. They are much better than standard halogen bulbs. The light is whiter and brighter. I do all of my driving after dark this time of a year and I wouldn't go back to the standard bulbs.

I have heard some people say they don't last very long but I have not experienced this problem. They last about as long as any other bulb I have used.

don't bother with Sylvannia Silverstar halogen bulbs (9003). get what ShawnTRD mentioned, they are much better and last longer.

I got mine from candlepower.com store.

whats the bulb size for low beams on gen 4 Camry's? 9006?

how are GE or Philips bulbs? I really hate how dim my low beams seem to be. They're new since I was in an accident about a month ago. Maybe I need to re-aim them?

Buy HID's they cost the same as replacing with useless halogens. I have them on all my cars. They're only like.... $35-$40 on ebay. Trust me, they all work the same. No need to buy the $1000000 HID kit.

inb4 don't use HIDs without projectors.

If you buy HIDs, everyone here will yell at you to make sure you install them with projectors otherwise you'll blind everyone on the road. >_> I broke that rule though <_<

HID's or HIR's ?

I read on another thread in this forum that you need some sort of conversion kit if you use HID's. The thread said to use HIR's instead.
With HIR's, you can just plug them into the existing connectors by breaking off a plastic tab on the bulb holder.

for separate low and high beams, the low beam is 9006 and high beam is 9005.

forget about HIDs for those 9005&9006 cars people, just get Philips HIRs, pretty much same brightness as HID, and no mess with extra wiring and ballasts crap. only difference is that light color is closer to stock (whiter than stock though). so no purple, green, blue, flavors here.
also those cheapest Chinese HID conversion kits from ebay are known to overload the car wiring harness causing them to melt unfortunately over time new front wiring harness from dealer is like $1,400 MSRP.

unfortunately they don't make HIRs for H4/HB2/9003, so seems the best you can get is Philips Xtreme Power dual-filament bulb.

DON'T USE HIDS WITHOUT PROJECTORS. Do I have to post the glare photos? Note the HUGE amount of glare... it's insane. DON'T DO IT. I WILL FIND YOU.

I currently have 9006's regular SilverStar; just a bit brighter and whiter than stock.

Also, stay away from the cheap blue fake "xenon" bulbs. They are nothing more than regular halogen heavily tinted blue. Yes, they look nice from outside at night, but you can't see anything on the road while driving. (I tried a pair and removed it on the second night) Some “xenon” bulbs ramp up the wattage to give off a much brighter light and with it, a good chance of burning the wires too. Normally a 9006 is 55W, not 80W.

It seem like there's never enough light on the road...

Sorry, but your mistaken my friend. You do not need projectors.

Sorry, but don't BMW's blind you? Don't mercedes blind you? ... well unless your headlights are waaaaay off then you will not blind anyone.

I had HID's on my highlander and they were never a problem. I have HID's on my supra and they were never a problem. Why do you guys insist on ricing your cars out with projectors? Yes, HID's are waaay brighter than nornal halogens, but thats the way they are. The lexus RX300's come HID's and they sit way higher than our little cars and they come factory.

What I'm trying to say is that more than likely most of you guys are running the 7K and above and that's why you get in trouble. 5K is legal. They are just plain old regular white.
