Canada P0305 misfire oncylinder 5

Hi,
I have a Camry 1997 XLE V6 3.0, 1MZ-FE engine with 209KM. Recently I got P0305 engine fault when I saw engine check warning (misfire on cylinder 5). I changed spark plugs, swap coils, and swap HT wires. None solved the problem. It started when the weather get cold (below 0 degree C). I didn't see any problem on a day with 3 degree C temperature. Some time when the engine get warm it works fine, other times it just shaking.
Any comment would help.
Thanks

Moved your thread to the Camry forum. You should also use the forum's search feature to find any past threads that deal with the P0305 error code. Thanks.

* Faulty spark plug or wire
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Running out of fuel
* Poor compression
* Defective computer

You've already changed you wires, plugs, and coils. You could cancel poor compression and Burnt exhaust valve out more than likely because you said it runs OK sometimes. So you've already narrowed the list down.

* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Running out of fuel
* Defective computer

This is what you should check first. Try running some Fuel Injector cleaner in your system first .. see if it helps at all.

Today I checked the injectors’ impedance. All of them except #5 were ~14 ohms. Just #5 was 166 ohms. So I think I found the problem. I need to replace the injector #5. It seems very though job.

Cool, glad you found the problem. Now to do the fuel injector its really not extremely hard to do. Before removing it, your going to want to get 3 new O-Rings, some petroleum jelly to coat the O-Rings in, and an intake manifold gasket.

should be 9 bolts, 2 nuts, 2 plate washers. Remove the intake manifold together with the delivery pipes. Once the IM is out of the way, your fuel rails will be exposed.

While your intake manifold is off, you may want to inspect everything underneath and change out the rear spark plugs since this would be the best time to do it

Definitely use new o-rings. You can get them from the dealer or online like rockauto, but import duties will cost you.

You can also send out the remaining injectors for cleaning and flow rate measurement. Here is one a fellow TN member used in the US:

there's actually at least two members that used RC Engineering for balancing the injectors
Those guys restore them nicely and make them all fall into 3% (guaranteed) variation of flow.
In practice they often make them fall into 1% (worked for me as 0.9%) variation which is amazingly good service (they take care of all rubber parts as well) for the price of standard balancing

The other member would be Jason.MZW

Here is my 1MZ-FE Engine with all parts assembled:

Engine when I took air manifold out (I put a new gasket) :

The air manifold:

I removed fuel rail on back row:

Then took the injectors out and clean the injectors’ seat:

Two injectors on right were good. I just replaced the o rings and sealing parts. I washed them with gas. The left injector is the bad one which I replace with new one.

I put everything back and it works great.
Thanks again everybody for great support.
