Info on 1998 Camry LE V6

Hello:

My uncle just gave me his 1998 Camry LE V6 with 46,776 miles on it. The car was purchased brand new. It is in great condition, never had any problems with it. This is my first car. I tried doing some research on it online but had no luck with such an old car.

I need to know some information about the car like its 0-60, 1/4 mile, top speed, mpg highway.

Since it is a V6, should I only use premium gas only? Using anything belong would hurt the engine right? I also need to change the oil. Whats the best oil out there to help the performance of the vehicle? What other things should I know?

Thanks for reading.

the 1mz-fe v6 is a great engine, its got about 185-190 hp at the crank, like 145 at the wheels with an auto tranny, 165-170 at the wheels with a std tranny. the 1/4mile time i would say is mid 16's maybe high 15's... 0-60 i dunno, maybe 7.5 or 8 seconds? again it all depends on standard or auto tranny... standard ownz, auto blows, but still is good. haha... the best oil i would have to say is mobil 1 synthetic. but once you go synthetic oil, you can NEVER go back.... NEVER!!!!! you must use synthetic oil throughout the life of the car...i think i am using valvoline synthetic in my car... its good too. i personally like synthetic better, but its all up to you. do a search on synthetic vs. regular oils, there are plenty of threads out there... the top speed for me is about 135-140, but ive only gotten it up to 129 with an auto tranny i would say 125-130...MPH of course. since i am in the US, where we dont use the smartest system of measurements ever... metric. stupid fucks... we should convert everything...
regular gas is fine, premium wont get you anything more...

did you all know that back when they wanted to convert, there was a bill proposed and i think Ralph Nader or someone else helped to get it voted out NOT because it was a bad idea, but because there were certain requirements written in the bill that this ONE company would be responsible for making a bunch of the shit, and they would have gotten a CRAPLOAD of money for it... so thats why we arent metric now, not because its a bad idea, but because of some sub clauses...

What he said^

I use Mobil 1 b/c the guy who had the car before me did. Let me tell you those 40 buck oil changes suck(20 for oil, 20 to get it changed b/c nowhere to do it myself)

Other than that it's a good car. As much as I abuse it, it still runs fine.

It will get up and go when you need it to but it's no speed demon. I always thought it ran like a high 17 in the quarter?
