Exclamation Gen 2 Avalon owner build thread...

I just want to post a quick link to my intro on the Gen 2 Avalon forum. Since the stretched 20 series Camry chassis is shared with the Gen 1& 2 Avalon's I'll make it known that there is now one more serious tuner already dedicated to this chassis. Although the two cars have their build differences, its interesting how they are so closely related. Ive gone back to the beginning of these boards to dig up any information I could in order to learn more about the chassis. I had to cross reference aftermarket & OEM parts numbers to get a full understanding. Lexus ES300 owners probably wont admit it but the two models share even more parts. So let it begin....

New Avalon owner, take notes...

I admit it! , why do you think the Avalon and the Camry are so great? Lexus has been designing the Camry platform since 1991 for the 1992+ model year. The Camry has been a de-glorified ES since 1992 and the Avalon was bred out of the same platform in 1995=Lexus refinement and quality.

I do admit it. I like this platform. My only complaint is the poor weight balance & lack of LSD. By the time this platform reached Gen 2 Avalon, it was refined even more & the difference can be felt. Ive been in many Camry's & a few older ES300's. My bro just bought a green/grey leather 1996 V6 LE with only 68,000kms. In comparison the newer chassis feels way more solid & brought up to entry level Lexus standards for the time. The 1MZ dual throttle also feels much stronger with more effortless pull thanks to the 3 stage ACIS.

For those that don't know, I've unfortunately ended the project. All my aftermarket parts are for sale & will fit Gen 3 and 4 Camry's. Check the link in my signature.

Thx
