Camry as rv

Please don;t laugh, at least not loud enough for me to hear you!!!

I have a friend that folds her passenger seat back all the way flat on her Prius and puts a twin mattress down and car camps for months at a time while driving all over the USA. Its quite an adventure and it got me to wondering if there was a way to remove the seat back of the passenger seat in my 97 camry and could then make that side of the car into a car camper type set up.

So, how do you remove the seat backs? And, are they easy to replace once they're needed again as a passenger seat?

Thanks,

donald

The only way I could see this as a possibility is if you lay the Rear seats down and cut the hole where the entrance to the trunk is out. I'm pretty sure you'de loose some structural integrity doing that though

Umm yes. The bottom of the seats you can yank it out. Pull on the lower half from the corners, then you should be able to lift it up and out. The backs you'll have to fold now and on the lower right and left hand corners you'll see hinges hidden beneath the carpet backs,i don't remember the size of the bolts, but remove those and then you'll have your seats out.

OOPS I meant to say - remove the back of the front passenger seat. I don't want to remove back seats or any part of them. The front seats do not lay all the way back and so I thought I could just remove the seat back only and be good to camp.

thanks,

I don't think you could fit a twin bed in there though...

Maybe a futon.
