99 Solara engine problem

Hey guys, i was in a rush to go to school, and when i parked my car i left my headlights on and when i came out my battery was dead, so i got it jumped, then everything was fin, until i start driving i've nothiced that my car was weaker after i was driving for about 20 min. The car will start to struggle at idle and the rpm goes down to like under 500 rpm at idle when i hit the brakes. Alos when i rev up i can hear the belt whisteling and that has never happened before.

I also have a short ram instake and when ever i rev up to 2,100 rpm i can hear the ram sucking air, but after the battery died i would have to rev it up above 3,00 rpm. Not sure if its the spark plugs or an electrical problem. At first i thought it was the battery, but i doubt it.

So can anyone figure out whats going on? Any help would be great thanks

Reset your computer (Disconnecting the Negative terminal or Removing the computer fuse) for 5 minutes. Plug it back in and try to drive again. The Screeching was more than likely the alternator cycling ;;;; throwing voltage back to your battery

Not sure man, if you could record a video or something it might help. What does the burning smell like? Electrical? Exhaust? Plastic?

Sounds like you rear valve cover gasket is seeping oil right onto the exhaust manifold, which is why you smell it throught the vents. Check if its leaking once the engine is COLD. I had this problem also.

smoke might be the oil leaking out and collecting somewhere. if it hits hot parts it will burn and stink under hood, once you turn the cabin blower on you will have that stench inside too.

if your intake sucks that oily smoke into the throttle body then your IAC might be dirty and causing rough idle problems. just a thought.

try recording the video when smoke appears. also how low the RPM go when you pull over to the stop sign or traffic lights?

also make sure you have clean and securely tightened terminals on your battery. they might need wire brushing.

Do check the belt tension and maybe oil on the pulleys.
