Rough acceleration 1MZFE V6 Manual

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help me out. I own a 98 Camry V6 5spd manual and it has a slight problem. When I accelerate from 2nd gear the cars acceleration is rough and smooths out after I change gears or after 3k rpm. Does anyone know what the problem might be ?

Does the engine miss or hesistate? Or is it a vibration that stops when you get into 3rd? Rough is a relative term. Give us a few more details.

So it's smooth in 1st and 3rd over the same rpm range, but lumpy only in 2nd? My guess would be 2nd gear related.

Is it smooth in neutral, clutch engaged over the same rpm range?

you figured out the problem as to whats causing your issue? When you said your acceleration is rough...do you mean the car feel like its bogging/hesitating/misfiring??
