3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
A two-tone '96 LE V6 with special alloy wheels and what appears to be special badging on the fenders. Anybody have more info on what this special edition is? Toyotareference doesn't even list the two-tone color scheme.

car had a paint job, it really a xle! should have the keyless as well i believe, and those rims didn't come with that year if from toyota at all
Those are OEM rims...very rare! The car itself is a loaded J vin LE with OEM two tone pain. I see them around occasionally.
A couple of years ago I received a pm from a dealer in Ca IIRC, and he was looking for the centers to those rims. I knew someone that had some, and gave him the dudes contact info...later he told me the guy paid $400 bucks for the centers only.
The rims are more rare than the car. I wonder what the reserve is? I'd bid on it if I were in the market for another vehicle.

X2 I live in Lexington about 20 miles from where the Camry's are made and yes those are Camry wheels and yes that is a factory 2 tone I see them all over the place here. Camry's are a dime a dozen around here.
The badges in most likely say American Edition, the next generation of Camry's also had that version 2 tone and special wheels

Mine is also a two tone from the factory. It was offered and purchased in NC as a "Special Carolina Addition" It did not come with those rims and has chrome trim instead of the gold.

It hasn't been painted. They come from the factory like that. It's officially sold as a COLLECTORS EDITION (1996 model year ONLY), and it fits between the LE and XLE models. Any other "Edition" badging was added by the dealer.

They usually seem to be J vin cars too for some reason. That one is REALLY nice. Basically mint interior, with premium sound and the V6. You could also pull up the '96 camry brochure on toyotareference.com and read more.
I should also add that since that post, I found out that ALL of these are J vin cars.

Toyota also has or had a deal with Enkie wheels in the past, a lot of the trucks and some cars would have an Enkie wheel option with Toyota center caps.
Go here and scroll down to the 5th wheel they are 175 each.

Well OEM alloys have their advantage over some aftermarket rims in that they are more durable. I've heard that at wheel fixing places, they get far less OEM wheels than aftermarket because aftermarket's quality control is less strict
