94 Camry stiff sun visors (also 5th gen Celica)

Hey guys, Im having problems with the sun visors on my fathers 94 Camry and now on my 5th gen Celica.
They are VERY hard to move up or down and it looks like the plastic/wood (?) stuff on the inside is about to rip from the metal rotating arm if I try to force it. The only way of getting to move them is by grabbing the visor by the metal base but even now that is getting hard. It seems as if the internal rotating arm needed some form of lubricating but I dont want to get the sun visor lining full of WD40 even more if it isnt going to work

Why dont you remove the sunvisor from the roof, and then you can get a better look at it. I would say it needs some for of lubrication as well. You can buy grease in small tubes that squeezes into places and doesnt make a mess

That was the first thing I did (sorry for not pointing that out earlier) but I couldn't find a logical friction point (joint, base, hinge etc) that would make any difference if I added some lube. As far as I can see the problem seem to lie on the inside of the visor where the metal shaft goes in
