1) Jack up the car
2) Remove wheel.
3) Unbolt break line from strut.
4) remove 2 bolts from strut connecting it to the a-arm.
5) remove the 3 bolts holding the strut mount to the car (in the engine bay)
6) Install=reverse.

I could probably pull this off in 1-2 hours with a friend. For someone new, give yourself double or triple the time. Now, as far as options on coilovers and pictures and whatnot... it's been discussed so many times that all I can say is...

We also have a sticky at the top of the forum. Take a look through that too.

there is some difference in install depending on coilover brand. if these are the origional parts (shocks), be prepared to need a braker bar, a socket set with large and small sockets, a good wrench set, time, and patience. you may break some bolts too so be prepared for that.

you will also need an hex key set for for the rear sway bar end links. also, a number of jacks will help. having one to lift the car up and another to compress the strut makes getting the bolts out MUCH easier.

Oh god... I forgot about the rear end links. Tips on that.... have an angle grinder ready to get the nuts off of those. NIGHTMARE. Replace them with Moog endlinks if you can. And Bird is right... a impact driver and/or breaker bar is needed for this.

breaker bar is better unfortunatly. Herb and I tried an impact and it was too big to fit. but i doubt the OP has one anyways.

I'd LOVEEE to buy an impact... but I have more pressing things on my budget right now. I used a breaker bar + cheater pipe and was fine. I did have to use a HUGE pipe wrench to hold the other end of the bolt still though.

edit: I'm catching up on your post count, because IT MATTERS.
