99 Camry - Help with Transmission codes/parts

Hello. I recently took my 1999 Camry to AAMCO to get my transmission checked and according to their report three codes came up PO750, PO755 and PO770.

I was trying to do some google searches, but since I don't know much about cars I was a bit confused on where to start. The guy was quoting me $2000 for everything, but I felt that that was a rip off. Is there anyone here that can help me understand those codes better and what parts I should be looking for and the range if possible. I would like to do some research on it and try to get a lower quote from other repair shops since I'll know what I'll be looking for and talking about.

Thanks a lot

Report reads: Our report revealed that the transmission fluid level is ok and the condition is with a burnt odor. Will not shift out 2nd gear. A computer scan revealed the following codes: PO750, PO755, PO770.

The A140 transmission has 3 shift solenoids. All three are bad at once? It is electrical? When was the last time you had the transmission serviced?

I'd contact a local ATRA transmission rebuilders assoc member shop for an opinion:

It's possible that the internal parts wore out and plugged up the solenoids. If that's the case you likely need a rebuild. However, some shops do put in a "low mileage" (relatively speaking) salvaged transmission but may not tell you. It's much cheaper. See also:

If you want a better reman transmission then check Jasper or Marshalls, typically with 3-year/100K mile warranty:
