97 camary P0106 code

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had this problem before. I have a check engine light on with a P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure/ Barametric Pressure Circuit Range/ Performance Problem.

The car has little power and keeps stalling under any load.

I am thinking its the MAP Sensor just want to make sure before I buy it. Thank you

Things just done:
1. New spark plugs
2. New ignition wires
3. New Air filter
4. New Ignition Coils

If you worked around the MAP then disconnect and clean all connections and ground wires. Look for any hose problems.

Ok, I will try that but the reason I did those things was to solve the problem but still the same thing. I am going to try but I can't even find a MAP Sensor besides the dealer. Thank you for your responses.

check ebay and junk yards, e.g. LKQ.com

I know at least one TN member who had it for sales some time ago (Chris Crash), PM him.

test this sensor with a vacuum pump and multimeter (voltage drop down test). make sure the wiring is intact. those sensors rarely go bad.

Ok, cleaning all the connections, cleaning grounds, and cleaning the throttle body didn't help. Still have a P0106 code and a funny idle. I am going to have to look up the voltage drop test.

Thanks to all I found it. The rubber elbow going to the map sensor was leaking because of a tiny rip. replaced it, reset the computer and everything is perfect. Thanks once again!!

Solution..a piece of vacuum hose.
Glad you found it and hope you come here first with the problem before you spend money on parts. Good Luck
