1MZFE coolant leak under bypass hose

I'm working on a 95 Camry V6 (1MZ) and repairing what I originally thought was a leaking coolant bypass hose. However, I removed the intake and noticed that the coolant bypass hose is completely dry. It appears that the leak source is a gasket underneath a long "plate" at the bottom of the valley. This plate extends the length of the engine - connected to the housing where the thermostat resides. What is this part called (other than "plate")? Is this a common leak point for older 1MZs? I will attempt to post a picture below - you can see coolant around the perimeter of the plate. There is no coolant around the intake manifold gasket or around the head gasket. Thanks in advance.

sorry - picture will not post. Can't put it in the gallery either since the file size limit is 200 kB.

I'm just seeing a red "X" on my screen with this procedure. Same thing that happened earlier.

Whatever this part is, I took it off and sealed it with Toyota FIPG. Should be good to go now.

Toyota FIPG does wonders, I used it to seal a leak on my power steering pump.
I would of replaced the bypass hose as part of preventative maintenance.

thanks for the help with posting the picture. Yes, per your recommendation the new hose is installed. Also replacing thermostat while it's apart along with the necessary gaskets for this procedure.

OK, I've dug around enough now to learn that Toyota calls this particular part a "water inlet housing".

For those who are interested (I always appreciate the original poster taking the time to communicate the final fix), the leak was indeed caused by the gasket underneath the water inlet housing. This wasn't a true "gasket", but instead Toyota FIPG sealant. So that's what I used to re-seal. I've been driving it for weeks now with no more coolant leaks.

How common is the water inlet plate to leak, I have my parents 1MZ-FE ripped down and I was wondering if this should be done as mantience like the bypass pipe? The plate shows no sign of leakage right now..

I can't speak to how common this is. I expect that it doesn't happen that often, because when I was researching I couldn't find much info on it. However, if you have it torn down to that point, it's not much extra work to go ahead and do it.
