1997 Camry CE Auto - Reverse lights not working
I searched and saw some similar threads before and read through them but want some confirmation since they all Gen3 specific.
The reverse lights stopped lighting up upon putting the car into reverse. My parents already took it to the dealer a few years back and apparently it was the wiring problem in the trunk so I'm not sure if it's the same problem this time around.
No light replacement indicator comes up on the dash (should this light up for reverse light bulb problems?). I just took a quick peek at the trunk wiring but the actual wires are enclosed in some plastic and with electrical tape wrapped around it (I'm guessing the dealer put the tape on when they were fixing it or is that original?). Gear selection indicators do not exist on the car so no information there.
Should I grab a couple of bulbs first to check if that's it and then look through the wiring in the trunk? Or should I just start unwrapping all that tape and look at the wiring?
Thanks.
