Air the Brake System.

Got air in the brake system. I was adjusting the parking brake and flushing the brakes. I did a RR, RL, FR, FL flushing order. The pedal goes to the floor and doesn’t brake hard. I don’t know what went wrong. The lowest the fluid got was a little below MIN. Can I do damage to the abs or brake booster/mc because of this? My teacher said him and the Auto Tech II studebts will get the air out of the system. Hopefully it works. Not a good way to start the week.

what did you use to bleed the brakes and how was it performed exactly?

never heard of damage to ABS on our cars because of brake bleeding and LOW level of fluid. a little below LOW means nothing bad... unless the fluid in reservoir started gurgling and brakes were sucking air into the MC.

If booster was damaged, you would have a VERY hard pedal (no power brakes).

how much of fluid did you pull out of rear calipers?
how much of fluid did you pull out of front calipers?

I used a suction machine that’s hooked up to the air hose. I sucked out the fluid out of the reservoir than refilled it. Then I went to the RR caliper and sucked it out, and did the same for the others. In RR, RL, FR, FL order.
Idk exactly how much, but maybe 30 seconds at each caliper.

Its fixed, pick it up from the shop after school. Feels great, stops on a dime now. Another plus and the rear strut mounts aren't making noises anymore.
Struts and mounts shipped also, but idk when I am going to install. Maybe in a couple weeks after we finish engine rebuilding chapter.
