Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Need a new sway bar bushing and bracket ("clamp", sway bar to subframe).
Searching for where to puchase them, it seems that the retailers are just selling bushing and bracket without specifying make and yearmodel... It will specify sway bar diameter, but how can I even know that the bolt holes on the clamp will fit? Seems risky... I dont want to buy the part, get under the car and find out that it wont fit...
For the bracket, your best bet would be the salvage yard. They would probably let you have it for free, or a couple bucks at the most. If its for the rear, be sure to pick it off of a 3rd gen as they are a bit shorter on the 4th gens, and won't fit. Not sure about the front though.
If the salvage yard isn't an option for you, Energy Suspension sells "universal" polyurethane bushings with the brackets. You can order a set here for a little under $20 shipped. Just make sure to get the right bar diameter, and check the hole spacing.
I also found the front bracket here. 8 bucks without shipping though.

Anyone had experience with this?
My car: a 94 camry LE
Call the dealership. Or contact Gary (toyotapartsman?) and ask him. A set is something like $15 bucks.

I bought Gen 4 bushing brackets for my Gen 3.5 Coupe at the dealership when I had the TRD rear sway bar installed a few years ago.
IIRC they were only like 8 bucks each...I'm sure they cost more now, but I bet not much.
BTW The Gen 4 brackets are actually Larger than the ones on the Gen 3/3.5

Twodoor... are you upgrading your swaybar or not? I can look up the part numbers if you'd like. Like eyeball said, the gen 4 ones are probably needed if you're moving to an upgraded bar.

I got mine from autozone... surprisingly they had them in stock and in store. I got a box with the pair of them for around 9 bucks. The brackets I would agree, are a junkyard pick.

Not upgrading. What happened was that the bracket on one side of the rear sway bar just fell apart somehow. Rust I guess. The sway bar is hanging down there and giving of a "clank" sound at some bumps.
About a month ago I had a snowplow hit my tail from the side. It impacted the rim and dented it, and it shredded a part of my bumper. We were equally at fault and I won't get anything from his insurance nor from my own because i really have no coverage.
Maybe the hit on the rim is what caused the sway bar to come of its bracket. But the "clank" sound only started about two weaks ago, so much later. Apart from the dent on the rim and a blister on the tire, the alignment seems fine, control arms and suspension looks allright.
Part number 48832-06010 for those brackets by the way.

That is probably what happened as far as rust. Your more than likely going to have a hard time removing the mounting bolts connected to the body when you go to replace it.
Why dont you have insurance anyways? Thats kinda scary...
So, the bracket is $9 at the dealer... Will get that one and pick up the bushing at autozone...
Can't belive i was going to such lengts to avoid the dealer when the part is so cheap anyway. I used to have an Audi and got used to calling the dealer always only as a last resort. Love buying parts for the Toyota (and replacing them).
That's the upside to having a car thats 16 years old. A lot of the dealer parts for the gen 3 camry are cheaper just because they're going to phase out. Don't the dealers only have to stock parts for 10 years mandatory or something like that?
