Front center console removal 2000 Camry

I am trying to remove my front center console to access the airbag sensor module. It is a 2000 Camry LE.

I have a code 14 on the SRS and have checked the spiral cable good. the next step said the airbag sensor was at fault. I need to check the wires between the spiral cable and the airbag sensor to confirm the bad airbag sensor.

I have the facory manual and cannot find how to remove the front center console (the part just forward of the gear shifter). It looks like it had been removed before since the plastic tab from the rear on one side is outside the front on one side.

Any help on where the screws are, or the sequence would be helpfull.

Thanks!

I figured most of it out. Most importantly the airbag sensor is not there. It is behind the carpet protected by a black piece of plastic on the drivers side footwell center console.

To remove the center console. First remove the back cup holder (for the back seats). Remove 2 12 mm bolts, then pry out the trim ring or the gear shift. Remove two screw that hold down the front of the rear console and the rear of the front console. Remove rear console. Pry out the trim panel for the radio and heater controls. Remove 2 screw center top of center console. Remove 2 screws one each side of the lower out part of the center console where it connect tho the piesce in the passenger and drives foot well. I thinke you must oso remove the glove compartment trim panel since that side slips under it. I stopped here since i figured out the part was not there.

Hope this helps someone!
