adding pwr mirror

So I got a Gentex mirror with temp and compass. Got the wire, mounted the temp probe. Anyone know an easy way to power it? what should i tap into, or do i add another fuse to the box? I dont think it uses much power..... I can wire it to a cig lighter adapter, but only want to use that temp.

On an unrelated issue: Today was the dreaded day: doing a drain/refill on the stepmom's 02 buick century. Of course there was no trans drain plug, so it was a friggin mess! To refill I used Valvoline synblend dex3 in the red jug. I added 4 qts, started to add the 5th when i realized it was the color of oil, not ATF, even tho the quart was labeled ATF. glad i was paying attention. Guy at the parts store confirmed it was oil...... LOL

I think you could wire it to the map lights.
I wired my homelink garage opener to the constant radio power(with fuse)and no problems since.

map lights? I dont have map lights, and my dome light is above the backseat almost, since i have the (non power) sunroof. the closest would be the cig lighter or radio.

You can tap onto the lighter. Check if it's a constant 12V because some vehicles’ lighter only works with the ignition on making it a 12V ACC. When I install a Homelike mirror on my sister's Versa, I tap onto an empty slot on the fuse box, added a 10A fuse, and ran a 16GA wire in the A-pillar, behind the headliner to the mirror for the ACC 12V. But for my constant 12V, I tap on to the map lights with a 10A fuse.

Which every route you chose; remember to add fuses and joint all connections properly. Because the last thing you need is an electrical fire.
