3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
After driving home from work, I noticed a small puddle of coolant comming from the passenger side right front end of the car tonight! So I put the car on ramps, get my flashlight and snoop around under the car to trace the leak. Turns out the leak was comming from under the upper radiator hose clamp that had come loose & the hose was backing off from the upper radiator inlet allowing coolant to leak out.! I loosened up the clamp, repositioned the radiator hose & tightened the screw type hose clamp back into the correct position on the radiator! I count my lucky stars as I checked the other radiator clamps! That would have been the kiss of death to my beloved 1993 134K mile 3VZFE V6 LE had that hose come off the radiator since my commute home was a 25 Mile highway run & I was driving around 65-70 MPH!........
Would of seriously hated for you to lose that wonderful 3VZ-FE engine. Glad you caught that just in time! I would replace that clamp if I were you. It may just back off again. Keep your eye on it!

it really pays to pay attention when you reverse or get out of a parking spot. If you see a puddle and it wasn't raining and not using AC, something might be wrong. I saved my now camry when my idiot uncle kept driving it with the water pump leaking (went bad)...It should have DAWN on him that if the car was running 'a little hot' while driving, wouldn't you go and CHECK on the coolant level OR at lease under the car?
Glad you did that. It saved your car, your engine...and perhaps wallet
