Intermittent Brake Problem - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Ok, so its getting warmer in Texas now, and whenever its warm I have this brake problem. I will be sitting at a stop light with the foot on the brake, and it feels like I'm letting up on the pedal to move up like an inch, but I'm not. The pedal is depressed completely but every lets say 20 seconds, the brakes release for a second and the car moves a little. What could this be?

check your booster if it is air tight (see FSM - "Brakes" section).

does the pedal feeling changes for that split second when it happens? e.g. it becomes softer or harder, moves down a bit or up a bit?

is there a change in engine RPM (e.g. a spike)?

Everything feels the same and no change in rpm. I was hoping the brake flush would fix it. This has happened only once since it got warmer, so I have wait until it happens again. The problem started in the summer btw. I will look for that in the FSM.
