3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Today I was hangin out with a friend and we went to a local car meet. Some dude was checkin out my camry and he told me that I should get some city lights in the headlights. All I know is that they are little bulbs in the headlight. Has anyone here done this to their camry, or have pics. Also, would city lights look too rice or would they actually look nice? Any input would be great!
I seen headlight sets on ebay with holes for city light in them. IMO no one really going to notice them. You're better off with blackout housing, halos, or keep the OEM very clear like me.
Nope I just found a pic. google city lights headlight..
I was actually thinking about doing this but I never knew there was a term for it. I still may do it I have two red leds just sitting around waiting for somewhere to go.
Anyone got any pics of what your talking about? Is it just like an led stuck into the headlight somewhere?
Think of city light as daytime running lights in the US and Canada. City lights are use place in heavily lighted cities like well Tokyo, Japan. Instead of the use of full headlights, city lights are small light bulbs that are in the low beam housing. When they are turned on (usually with parking lights), it is enough to illumined the housing and makes the vehicle more notable to other without glare.
Got it. I kinda like it & like I said I was thinking about doing something like this anyhow. I guess well just have to wait n see. I like the idea but more for the unique touch rather than the visibilty thing.
Don't some Lexus have these? maybe one of the GS's if I remember correctly. It'd be such an easy mod, but still would have to open up the headlights cause drilling would make the insides dusty.
yeah i wanna do it for the looks. the only problem is that i have automatic lights and cant turn them off at night. thats when i would like to show them off... or is there a way to shut them off and just run the parking lights?
