3rd Generation TN's 1st Dual tb GEN3 Camry

looks like a mess but I did it. The coupe revs up alot faster.

Note: the pvc pipe is there temporarily. I will be creating a better intake to take full advantage of the dual variable intake.
difficult to do due to both tps's are different and there are less vacuume lines on the new intake manifold.

edit/ UPDATE:
an upgraded version made with exhaust pipe i had laying around (unused )

Pretty cool project. The Avalon I'm picking up today has dual TB's on it's 1MZ. Didn't know that any of them had it until I started looking at the car.

well he can control the 2 tb, so lower rpm/cruising only open one tb to reduce air volume but keep velocity through the tb, (increased tq) then wot i'm guessing you have more more volume (the combined diameters work out more)

I need a Dual TB for dummies explanation. Are there any power/gas saving gains for controlling essentially diameter of TB?

I think the VVT-i 1mz-fe had dual TB. it also means the engine is NOT a non-interference.

there was a guy on TN that i think purchased a 5sfe with dual TBs .. The passenger side manifold was cut off and a TB plate was welded in-place.. Not sure about how it ran, but I remember seeing pictures and it made me laugh. lol

@ the throttle body the throtle opens at the same time but now there are two acis valves that now change the length of the runners

the longer runners increase the tq output but the hp stays about the same.

Damn Gino....what would the world be like if you and adam went into buisness together.

that is really cool man. if you ever get a chance you should dyno test it. Im curious what kind of gains that produces.
