1998 Camry V6 Cali vs non Cali

I have to replace the front Y-pipe/flex pipe/catalytic converter on my 98 Camry. The sticker under the hood says it conforms to US and State of California emissions standards. Does this mean it has California emissions? I've been pricing the replacement part, and it looks like the non-Cali part is SIGNIFICANTLY less $$ then the Cali part. Since the car is in MO, I'm not concerned about the emissions so much. I just wonder if the non-Cali part will fit, and if it does fit, I also wonder if its gonna through a CEL from the rear O2 sensor?

This is a Federal label.

The CA label is a little different.

yes, yours is California compliant, if it says on emissions sticker.

If you need a better confirmation, just call the local dealer's Parts Counter and give them car's VIN# and they will tell you 100% answer.

i'm going through the same thing right now.
i also have the Cali emissions and live in NY
the federal emissions pipe will NOT fit the Cali emissions vehicle(it's too short)..... trust me, i tried

off to spend more $ on the Cali emissions pipe....

good luck!

I should have clarified, mine is a 50 state emissions label for the M/T models.

You'll definitely need the CA y-pipe. You can only use the Federal pipe with the Federal spec manifolds. The front exhaust manifold on your engine has a pre-cat built into it. The rear bank's pre-cat is built into the y-pipe, so the y-pipe has two catalysts in it, which makes it more expensive.
